August's Homo Sapiette - Tel Aviv Beach Eye Candy
OK, so this month not one specific celeb for you to drool over. Instead, a collection (not a private one, only one of these pix came from my camera and I didn't take it - most of these pix are out there on the web) of some of the eye candy that you might just get accosted with on the sandy beaches of Tel Aviv. It's August, it's baking, the Med is sparkling a few metres away, and the bikinis are getting even briefer. Oooh mama. Did you ever wonder how I've managed to stay here so long? And can you guess where I'm off to in the next few minutes...?

Give a guy a camera...
And this is what happens. Not sure why OM would want to focus on a boring grey pole, but let's just be thankful he couldn't focus properly...probably distracted by something or other...
And if you are the owner of this rather gorgeous bum (oh yes, click to big), please get in touch with us here at anglosaxy. We will require extensive proof, of course...
Disgusting stuff.

Burnt to a crisp
Went to the beach on Saturday, overdid it a little bit, even though we were there for just a couple of hours. The kids were well protected, hats'n'all and had a great time, but I turned remarkably red. Which I only really felt the effects of yesterday when trying to sleep on my sore back and shoulders. Feck, it hurt! Guess I was lucky I didn't wear my leopard-skin thong. Haven't been this burnt for about 20 years. I guess it shows how often I've been down the beach lately...my permanent tan days are well-gone...
Kids, be safe, use sun cream!

This is the Sea
Ahh, Riding Giants. What a classic piece of film, just seen it again on Channel 8. It's been a couple of years since I leashed up and paddled out, but this movie is just awe-inspiring. Some of those big wave surfers are crazy feckers, but the shots of some of the waves and the surfers riding those waves is just incredible. Well worth a watch if it's your sort of thing.
Aye, I gotta get back on me board, even if I fall off after a few seconds...that sense of freedom is tugging at me...

Just beachy 3
'Scuse me while I experiment, but this is another wide-angle lens distort shot. Too much distortion?

Blink and you'll miss it...
Strewth. Where did those last 2 years disappear to?
Yesterday was spent on the beach, complete with junior and juniorette (dressed ever so cutely in her Arsenal shirt!) - the first time we've made it to the beach as a 4-member family. We were also joined by R and S, complete with their 2 littl'uns (the latest addition just a squirming, shitting one month old).
Aaaah, was it just 2 years ago that we were all sitting on the very same beach, no kids in tow, a beer in hand (still happening, don't worry), comtemplating life and dreaming of exotic destinations around the world...? But then again, I don't think I've enjoyed an Irish bar so much (after the beach), with little junior running rings around the waitresses and trying to steal bottles from behind the bar...bless 'em at the Temple bar, they were very patient and understanding!
Life moves very quickly sometimes...all you single/childless buggars, enjoy every second because your world turns upside down in the blink of an eye...

Medication and Drinkies
...just don't mix 'em kids.
The after-effects of yesterday's meeting with O continue: O (who was on anti-biotics) has just told me that after I left her she stayed to watch the sunset. The next thing she remembers is waking up in Ashkelon train station (maybe an hour away by train - but not where O lives), being prodded awake by the security guards on the last train. Three hours later. So O lost a couple of hours of her life yesterday - I'm just scanning the news to see if anyone was savagely beaten or topped off along her route...
Freaky stuff.

Rainy day escapism
It's hissing it down over here, I was actually caught in an icy hailstorm this morning. Jerusalem is expecting snow, or maybe not, and it's that time when you guess how many layers of clothing Israelis are actually wearing...so, just to remind myself of last weekend, and probably next weekend...

The Beach
As the rains start to fall (yep, it's a Guy Fawkes kind of day, a freezing, blustery 24 degrees outside), it's time to pull up your deckchair and remember a sunnier day...

"I'll have a pint of Stella with my war, please..."
Seems a bit strange, what with a war raging a couple of hours drive away. But fuck it, when Stella calls, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. And yes, the beachside bevvies meant a strip down to my boxers and a quick midnight dip. Lush, absolutely lush. And no jellyfish clinging to my body as I resurfaced. An added bonus.

Bitch: The Beach
Something that really pisses me off in this country is the lack of access to free beaches. Every time the season kicks in, I have to stick to my regular haunts, otherwise end up paying at various other beaches. And is it me, or are beaches almost everywhere now getting whacked with an entry charge?
A couple of weeks ago I was "up North, like" and came across a little gem. OK, you have to drive through an Arab town (Jisr-ez-Zarka?) to get there, but it's a cracker. Untouched by matkot (beach tennis), free of arseim (Israeli chavs), and, alas, also bereft of bikini clad ladies, it is nonetheless a sight for sore eyes. Just a few fishermen shacks, five or six boats and a few kids running around. This is what it should be all about, right?
